catching up

This week I'm getting back into the swing of things and enjoying spring time in Nashville. Beth and I just returned from Sanibel Island, FL where we were enjoying spring break with her family. It was everything a beach trip should be. We ate, swam, read, drank, ate, rode bikes, played tennis, ate, walked and ate some more.

We arrived back in Nashville friday afternoon and I was quick to hit the local trails. SORBA had a very productive workday out at Hammy Saturday morning. We finished up some new sections of trail and closed off some old eroded sections. A few of us stayed after lunch and rode a loop. I had not ridden Hammy in months and there is a ton of new stuff out there. The trail is continuing to grow and yet is still the same old fun trail that will bite you if you're not careful.

Another crew met up at Montgomery Bell Sunday morning for what was hyped as a ride-it-all ride. The trail was in perfect shape and the pace was brisk as everyone was chomping at the bit to push the pedals hard in the new-to-Nashville spring weather. We rode the trail is many differing directions which was a nice change. We've all been riding Monty Bell a lot lately so it was nice to hit the trail in a new direction. We called it a day after about 18 hard miles.

All in all it was a great spring weekend. Between the workday, riding and yard work, I was outside almost the entire weekend. This week includes some work and some meetings which may shape the near future...or may not.
